Telecommunications outfit Logic recently expanded its fixed wireless internet services into the underserved Eastern Districts of Grand Cayman.
“We are excited to finally be able to offer residents and businesses in the Eastern Districts of the island a great internet experience,” Rob McNabb, CEO of Logic, said in a release from the company .
“It’s been far too long that they’ve gone without an internet product that can meet all of their needs,” he added.
At present, Logic offers unlimited 4G LTE services at internet speed of 10 megabytes per second (mbps) at KY$65 and 30 mbps for KY$105.
The launch of the service in the Eastern District marks the beginning of Logic’s yearlong roll-out of wireless broadband into other underserved and rural areas in Grand Cayman and its sister islands Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.
As part Logic’s plan to improve internet connectivity across the territory, it will in the future upgrade its wireless network to 5G broadband and, as a result, deliver faster speeds to homes.
McNabb, in his remarks, also thanked local regulator OfReg for a “a good job pushing us to expand our broadband coverage.
“…and we are happy to say that we now cover approximately 90 per cent of the population of Grand Cayman with broadband internet,” he added.
