CC One Virgin Islands takes over management of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits of Caribbean today

CC One Virgin Islands LLC on Tuesday, January 28, announced its acquisition of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits of the Caribbean, an alcohol beverage company operating in the US Virgin Islands.

As such, effective January 31, 2020, CC One will take over ownership of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits business in the Caribbean.

CC One Virgin Islands, LLC, a member of CC1 Companies, is the official distributor of Coca-Cola sparkling and still brands in the USVI, BVI and Grand Cayman. CC1 Companies include Coca-Cola Puerto Rico Bottlers, CC1 Beer Distributors Inc, Coca-Cola Bottlers Trinidad & Tobago, Florida Caribbean Distillers LLC, and Puerto Rico Coffee Roasters.

In addition, the company manages bottling and distribution operations on behalf of Coca-Cola and its brands in Barbados, Grenada, St Kitts, Antigua, and St Vincent. Overall, CC1 employs some 3,000 people and generates annual sales of over US$1 billion.

According to Carlos Diaz, vice-president of international operations, CC1 Companies, “We are pleased to be the new owners of Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits of the Caribbean, LLC. We continue to grow our portfolio of sparkling and still brands, and the acquisition of Southern Glazer’s Caribbean operation solidifies our strategy to become a total beverage company.”

CC1 indicated that it will continue to operate separately from the new entity created through the acquisition of Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits of the Caribbean, LLC. The new company will now become CC1 Virgin Islands Wine and Spirits, LLC immediately after the January 31st closing date.

Speaking on the sale of his company, Chief Operating Officer for Southern Glazer’s Brad Vassar, noted, “We believe we found a great organisation in CC1 Companies, one that shares our business values and will continue to exceed the expectations of suppliers and local customers. The COO explained that Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits has decided to focus on its US and Canadian business in order to strategically deliver the most value for our suppliers and our company.
