Managing Director of Carreras Limited, Marcus Steele, has resigned effective January 31, 2020, said the company.
The resignation was announced by the cigarette manufacturer and distributor in a release earlier today, December 4, and brings an end to Steele’s more than two decades of service to the Carreras Group as he leaves to follow other interests.
The company described Steele’s tenure as “inspirational”, adding that he is a “true champion for his team members, introducing ground-breaking initiatives such as paternity leave, which is a rare benefit for employees in Jamaica.”

He was appointed managing director in 2013 and was known for “supporting, promoting and exporting key talent within the organisation and across the BAT group,” the release said.
Steele also serves as a director of Proven Wealth.
